Local Tips

what to do On THE mornington PENINSULA

The best holiday memories are forged around food.  The coasts and soils of the Mornington Peninsula region are blessed with the best.  From cherries and berries, to mushrooms and wine, it’s a place to explore in all seasons for all tastes.   You simply must get out and try the local produce.

Knowing you can’t always visit every producer in person, a great shortcut is a visit to one of our regional markets.

If the timing doesn’t match up with your visit, Flinders General Store always stocks a showcase of the best cheese, meat, fish, fruit and veg.  Our bottle shop is fully loaded with locally brewed craft beer and cider, and the famous cool climate pinot noir and chardonnay wines of the region.

Planning your moves

What to do on the Mornington Peninsula? We want you to explore everything about the Peninsula. With some of our insider knowledge, and a little forward planning, you’ll find all the holiday balance you need.

A day might take in modern art, mushrooming, fishing and a cellar door.  Maybe you’d prefer a round on the golf course, and a few hoppy local brews? For something kid friendly, start with strawberry picking, followed by swimming in the surf and local fish and chips.

Need a quiet day to just chill out? Stop past the General Store for quick roast chook, soft rolls, some ready made salads and a bottle of local wine.  An easy picnic to enjoy whilst dangling your feet in the water.
